The scoop on ice cream STEM activities

Ice cream is always a big hit in the summertime (and usually year round too if we’re being honest 😉). I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say they don’t like ice cream. I know there are some who can’t eat it because of allergies or other dietary restrictions, but, as for just not liking it, while I’m sure there are some people out there that don’t, I’d think they must be pretty rare.

And there are so many ice cream options to choose from! Personally, I grew up with the smooth creaminess of Dairy Queen ice cream, but I won’t turn down any other offerings!

Yo-Yo physics: Practice the science that make yo-yos so much fun

From root to STEM: Composting 101

As spring heads into summer, I’m excited about all the produce that will come out of my garden or from our local farmers’ market. The season also has me thinking about all the nutrients necessary for healthy plants and soil as well as even thinking ahead to what to do with waste at the end of the season. Scavenger hunts – Taking hands-on, minds-on learning on the move

I am a huge fan of lists. I even have lists for my lists. And checking things off is my favorite thing.

I also love mysteries.

So, it’s pretty fitting that I am also a big fan of scavenger hunts. What’s better than a quest for treasure or solving a riddle in order to get to the next step, all while checking off the boxes in the process? It’s problem-solving, creativity, active thinking, and fun all in one!
