Fun times are a comin’ – Spring and summer STEM solutions

“Spring won’t let me stay in this house any longer! I must get out and breathe the air deeply again.”
– Gustav Mahler

Baseball.
Longer days.
Barbecues.
Walks in the park with my kids.
Vacations.

I’m sure you have some favorites of your own, but these are a few of my favorite things, and they seem to all happen to take place over the course of the next few months.

Spring is in full swing and summer is on its way! Well, not quite yet, but it is just around the corner. As the weather begins to warm up in most areas around the country, many of us are preparing for the fun that can take place outdoors.

If you currently have spring or summer fever and are itching to have fun in the great outdoors, you have come to the right place! Whether you are looking for new activities or something for an upcoming STEM camp, we have you covered.

Whatever activity you choose, Pitsco has what you need.

Previously in the Pitsco Blog, our very own Patty Cooke shared with you our “Top 10 Spring and Summer Activities.” That list was put together in 2018, after interactions we had with teachers. We compiled their feedback and then sprang into action to share the list with you (see what I did there 😊).

The good news is that this list still holds true! We still receive the same positive teacher feedback on our activities, and students absolutely love getting hands on while learning. Feel free to dive in and check out all those fun activities we originally provided.

But at a quick glance, some of those activities included:

Additional Activities

Although our original Top 10 has not changed, we are always striving to provide new solutions for every learning environment, including camps. After all, I couldn’t leave you hanging without sharing something new, right? 😊

  1. Tello EDU Drone 10-Pack: This pack of 10 drones brings the experience of flying drones to your students and successfully introduces these machines to them. These would work great in a camp, especially with our Drone Flight Guide Curriculum and Field Elements Kit with Arena.

  2. Rugged Robot: This robot is specifically designed for outdoor use! Rugged Robot explores programming and focuses on problem-solving and design challenges.

Bonus Activities for Anywhere

We also have activities and resources to bring STEM to life wherever you are any day of the week. Most of these activities can be created with materials you can find around your home or school.

We’d love to hear what your plans are for the spring and summer months and how we could help! Feel free to drop us a line, comment, or question below!

Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine and weather.

Hi all! I’m one of Pitsco’s education advisors and have the pleasure of serving the Midwest. I travel quite a bit visiting with teachers and presenting at workshops whenever I have the opportunity to do so. I’m an alum of the University of Missouri and Pittsburg State University and a supporter of our Big Brothers Big Sisters local chapter. I love traveling, going to sporting events, and hanging out with my wife and daughter whenever possible.
